  1. HKFHY’s Cookies • Gift for Love Territory – Wide Charity Sale Kick off Ceremony and Inclusive Floor Curling Competition
The Federation held “HKFHY’s Cookies Gift for Love” Charity Sale Project in Hong Kong Opening Ceremony and Inclusive Floor Curling Competition at The Garage, D2 Place TWO on August 24, 2019. It was the first time for HKFHY to hold such an event. The event was officiated by Ms. Polly HO (Assistant Commissioner for Rehabilitation, Labour and Welfare Bureau), Mr. Benny CHEUNG, BBS, MBE, QGM (Chairperson of the Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities), Ms. Malina NGAI, Man-lin, JP (Honorary Consultant of HKFHY) and Professor Franco WU (Grandmaster of Physical Fitness and Founder of Franco’s GYMcollege). This project was different from most of the charity sale projects in Hong Kong by focusing on the connection of the donors and the beneficiaries. It had two themes: “Heart” and “Actions”. HKFHY acted as the key middleman of the connection and aimed at connecting the kind hearts of individuals and corporations with the socially vulnerable groups in Hong Kong. It also promoted the idea of “inclusion”. First Sense Design of HKFHY designed for gift packing and all promotional items. Anyone who consumed a box of HKFHY’s cookies had helped anyone in need in society and given the care and support. Individuals and enterprises could even join the “HKFHY’s Cookies Gift for Love” Campaign so that the “love” of the project could be passed on to the organizations that help the needy. HKFHY organized the distribution of the cookies among the organizations.

  1. Hong Kong Disneyland 10K Weekend 2019
The annual 10K Weekend 2019 at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) reached its fourth consecutive year. Presented by AIA Vitality, this year’s festivities took place from November 2 to 3, 2019 and attracted more than 10,000 local and international runners, joining over 100 Disney friends, Pixar pals, and performers who enthusiastically cheered on the runners throughout the park and resort area. Leaders from various sectors from tourism to non-profit organizations showed their support by participating in the “HKDL Leadership 3K” race to promote healthy living.

In this event, Hong Kong Disneyland has continued efforts on sustainability, diversity, and healthy living. One such way is through our sponsorship of the Hong Kong Federation of Handicapped Youth (HKFHY), helping more children and young people with disabilities enjoy outdoor exercises and fitness activities.

In this event, the resort donated a portion of proceeds to the HKFHY to support its “HKFHY Momentum Academy” program. The project gives children and youth with disabilities the opportunity to take part in sports and outdoor activities to support physical strength, social experiences, confidence, and a healthy lifestyle. Around 60 runners from HKFHY – including those with visual, hearing, and physical disabilities – participated in the “Monsters, Inc. 3K” race on November 3, 2019.

We express gratitude to Hong Kong Disneyland for their Invitation and donation. HKFHY will keep going to encourage accessibility and demonstrate the spirit of sports for all.

All officiating guests, 50 wheelchair runners, and about 800 participants started their 4-kilometer round trip between Tsing Yi Promenade and Tsing Yi Northeast Park.

Joy Charity Walk “INCLUSION” Sports Fun Day is a little bit different from any inclusion walk in the past. Apart from promoting the message of inclusion of able-bodied and disabled, we stressed on the education component through various fun activities and inclusive sports experience. This gave participants opportunities to explore disabled people's sports potential and challenges. They could develop understanding and interests in sports and thus develop a healthier lifestyle. The activity aimed to explore and train more disabled people who were capable of joining sports events. It also aimed to raise the idea of joining sports for all participants, let participants experience and feel the difficulties and challenges faced by disabled people, and appreciate the ability of disabled people. As a consequence, we could achieve the target of “Inclusion through sports” and build a healthier and more harmonious society. The amount raised by the event is $571,078.
